For over 30 years Peta Morris has shared her love of performance with audiences from around the world.
Peta is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, educator, singer/songwriter and jewellery maker. Baggage Limit, Peta's new venture into theatre performance is a culmination to date of her artistic skills. She uses storytelling and song to interweave a personal narrative. Delivered with a delicate balance of humour, she addresses raw and confronting subject matter, enabling her to communicate and connect with the audience on issues many of us find too difficult to confront. From the beginning...... In the early 90’s Peta began laying the foundations for her career studying painting at the renowned East Sydney Technical College. After graduating she went on to exhibit in galleries across Australia and sang in various bands in Sydney. It was in the early 2000's when Peta's powerhouse vocals featured on two albums with Australian music producer Paul mac and their ARIA dance chart hit 'Just The Thing’. She also worked recording with bands such as The Church, Eskimo Joe and electro solo artist Lake Lustre and songwriting with Don Walker of Cold Chisel. After her first child she was inspired to start and run her successful art teaching business The Kid Creative, which saw her teaching students from her home studio as well as working with organisations such as WEAVE Youth and Community services, Many Art Gallery and Museum and The Sydney Opera House. Since the events of Covid, Peta has paused her touring plans for her one woman show Baggage Limit, and is currently creating Ceramic and Wooden Jewellery, which can be viewed and purchased via her Instagram account. |
